PhD Candidate | Research Assistant

I am a research assistant at the Institute of Computational Perception in Linz, Austria doing my PhD under the supervision of Prof. Gerhard Widmer. I am part of the Con Espressione project and my research currently focuses on applying machine learning techniques to teach computers how to read sheet music and follow along musical performances. This allows me to work at the intersection of my interests in machine learning and music.

Research Interests

(Multimodal) Machine Learning for Audio & Music

Applying and adapting state-of-the-art machine learning methods in the audio and music domain. I am particularly interested in multimodal machine learning methods for audio and image/video.

Reinforcement Learning

Applications of reinforcement learning (RL) for music and audio. Recently, I also got interested in research on contextual and causal RL.
